Taxfiler data, or T1-derived datasets, are generated from individal tax files from the Canada Revenue Agency from the Income Statistics Division of Statistics Canada. These datasets are published on a yearly basis and are an increasingly important source of Canada-wide income data.
François Pagé, Section Chief of the Income Statistics Division, will cover the basics (standard) on taxfiler tables and how to better use them, including definitions on universes (what they include), how taxfiler geography differs from standard census geography, information new LIM methodology used in tables from the T1FF and how the LIM calculated using T1FF data differs from that calculated using Census data.
