Increase in voting between the 2011 and 2015 federal elections

Additional questions were added to the Labour Force Survey (LFS) following the last two federal elections to examine the voting patterns of Canadian citizens. Between 2011 and 2015, the turnout rate jumped from 61.1% to 68.3%! In 2015, more than 20 million citizens reported having voted in the federal election, compared with about 17.4 million in 2011.

Quick facts from the 2014-15 Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drugs Survey

In September, the results of the Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drugs Survey (CSTADS) were released for the 2014-15 year. The CSTADS is a national survey of tobacco, alcohol and drug use among Canadian students in grades 6 to 12. More than 42,000 students responded to the survey, conducted by the Propel Centre for Population Health Impact at the University of Waterloo on behalf of Health Canada.
