This product includes a custom tabulation at standard T1FF geographies as well as Census Subdivisions. Census Subdivisions are indicated by Level of Geography = 91.
The tables provide counts of families, by family type and by the number of children in each family. Where the original table provided counts of family with 0, 1, 2 and 3+ children, the custom table has added a ‘With Children’ category.
Additionally, the following counts have been added to the table, available by family type and number of children:
- # of persons 0-6
- # of persons 0-12
- # of persons 0-17
- # of persons 18-64
- # of persons 55+ Males
- # of persons 55+ Females
- # of persons 65 +
- # of persons 65+ Males
- # of persons 65+ Females
- # of persons 75+ Males
- # of persons 75+ Females
Note that the heading “With 0 children, With children, With 1 child, etc.” refers to the family composition (Row 3) regardless of the age of the family members. Number of persons (Row 2) might include parents, children and persons not in census families.
For example, where Row 2 indicates “# of persons 55+ Males” and Row 3 indicates “With 1 child”, the count provided could include:
- families where there is a male parent over 55 years of age who has one child, OR
- a family in which a male over 55 years of age is living with his elderly parents (the male over 55 is the child in this family).
Under “# of persons 0-12” and “With 2 children”, the count will include all families with at least one child that is aged 0-12 and another child OF ANY AGE.
Under “# of persons 0-17” and “With Children”, the count will include:
- families where at least one is aged 0-17, OR
- families where there is a parent aged 17 or under.
