Statistics Canada has released their Rural Data Viewer, a map that displays the content of select databases relevant to the Rural Canada Statistics Portal.
Included in the Rural Data Viewer is a new set of experimental statistics that provide additional information about business conditions in rural Canada. The new statistics include opportunities of working remotely provided by businesses. Estimates are generated using small area estimation methods applied to data from three cycles of the quarterly Canadian Survey on Business Conditions. Statistics are available by sector (goods and services) and are available for all rural labour markets across Canada, using a geographical concept called the Self-contained Labour Areas.
