As Canada celebrates its 150th anniversary, Statistics Canada will publish the latest chapter in the story of our country and its people. The third series of results from the 2016 Census of Population will be released on August 2, 2017, on Statistics Canada’s website (www.statcan.gc.ca). These results will focus on the language distribution of the Canadian population, as well as families, households, and marital status in 2016.    Several products will be released through The Daily, including Census in Brief articles which will examine family and household composition as well as languages spoken in Canada. The Families, households and marital status related articles will touch on the diverse family situations of children, young adults living with their parents, as well as same-sex couples in Canada. The articles on language will highlight English-French bilingualism, multilingualism and linguistic diversity, and official language minorities.
